Whither the United States?

IdeoIogies don't die; they just smell that way. The living corpse of liberal democracy and its adherents have so befouled the landscape to where citizens are threatened with its toxic gases. To be blunt, as the US society (if you want to call it that) breaks down and no solutions emerge (don't hold your breath) an opportunity arises for the National Reformation Party to use this as a major example of how the current system no longer is sustainable and needs to be replaced by a humane, orderly, and competent State.

The US Constitution is a blueprint for the anarchy and very possible ruin that well may beset that country in the coming months. This is not hyperbole, as I will explain shortly.

Here, we have a "president" who took advantage of the corruption and philosophical bankruptcy of the Democratic Party, a product of the ignorant masses (half of whom cannot read past the eighth grade level) who voted for this monster. Like a petulant and narcissistic child he has been deemed by dozens of mental health professionals (even his own niece US psychologist Dr. Mary L. Trump), he threatens to take advantage of an antiquated document to hold onto power. Here is what is in store.

Item 1: Most recently, a quaint old lady, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, member of the U.S. Supreme Court (shorted to SCOTUS) died. Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution says with respect to the Chief Executive, "He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, … appoint ... , Judges of the supreme Court … " (original text). Even the liberal bourgeois media acknowledges Trump's power to do this

[https://edition.cnn.com/2020/09/24/politics/donald-trump-election-democracy/ind ex.html ]. In passing, note how any check or balance is compromised with only the Senate confirming the presidential nomination.

Especially in her dying days, law clerks were the ones researching and preparing Ginsberg's opinions. For the sake of the Democratic Party, she should have resigned during the first Obama regime when there were enough votes to confirm a suitable ideological replacement. "Dumb" and "selfish" are words I'd use to characterize the situation. Oh yes, add "incompetence" and "anarchy". … and in a philosophical vacuum, to boot.

Verbal scuffles broke out when a similar situation occurred under the second Obama regime with the nomination of Merrick Garland to SCOTUS [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merrick_Garland#Scalia_vacancy_and_2016_nomin ation ]. The Republicans howled, saying that a lame-duck president should not nominate and give the voters the choice in the coming election. Hypocritically, the Republicans are supporting Trump's nomination.

It does not take a competent math major or social scientist to see how much power is concentrated in the hands of this imperious and inconsistently-ruling institution. One "justice" can tip the scales of law to favor one ideology or another, contrary to the wishes of both houses of Congress.

Item 2: While this has been going on because of the COV ID-19 pandemic, mail-in and absentee ballots will be sent in by millions of voters. Adherents to these procedures claim that little fraud occurs, but we see incidents like the Georgia one, i.e., "Georgia official claims 1,000 people -- out of at least 2.2 million -- voted twice in primaries"

[https://edition.cnn.com/2020/09/08/politics/georgia-official-claims-double-voting in-primary/index.html ].

Here in Mexico, everyone has to present an official (government-issued) identification before voting; it is just plain common sense. It is not left to some poll employee to look at the voter's "identification" and check the printed voting roll. How the "identification" is validated in the first place by the registrar's office is another topic. We'll leave it to competent neutral researchers – if any have the gonads to speak out – to discuss the potential and likelihood of fraud. Inasmuch as the voting process varies from state to state, I'd expect, like any other process with superfluous variety, to be flawed. Social fractiousness exacerbates the problem, encouraging more criminality. Think, for example, of computer fraud.

Anarchy is the backdrop to US state election procedures. There is no nationwide uniform voting procedure. Electronic ballot? Voting machine manufacturers? Electioneering laws? Primary candidate selections? Demagogues like things like this. Shake a few rattles, wave some flags, and stomp your feet. Confuse them all and take advantage of the weaknesses.

Trump says he may not leave if Biden wins. Questions have been raised if he would have to be ejected by force. Even ultra reactionary predatory fossils like Mitch McConnell say there will be a "peaceful" transition of power. I see this as correct, taking advantage of all the contradictions that are the substance of liberal democracy. Give the old bugger credit when credit is due. The liberals are too stupefied and ideological to see it.

Now, let's combine these items together to form a rather impressive train transporting disorder to a theater near you. Here is what I see coming.

Trump will nominate and the Senate will confirm a new SCOTUS "justice".

To forestall the confirmation process, the Democrats could do another impeachment. This means - if voted on by the House, the Senate would have to prioritize it, thus stalling the confirmation past 20 January 2021. If Biden wins, the confirmation of Trump's nominee will die.

Assuming that the above does not occur, Biden wins, and the nominee is confirmed, there will be legal challenges, extending all the way to SCOTUS. In the interim, 20 January 2021 will come, and either Trump tries keeping himself in office or is forcibly removed. Whether the military intervenes is problematic, as the Secretary of Defense has indicated the DoD won't intervene in civilian affairs. Trump would be perfectly consistent and probably even honest in saying that he won't have to be forcibly removed. All he needs to to is use the inherent flaws in the US Constitution to forestall even knowing the election results by repeatedly challenging decisions in the courts. The interesting part will be when 20 January 2021 arrives (3 January for members of Congress), when the normally elected president assumes office. Does Nancy Pelosi, speaker of the House take over, as per the US Constitution? Here is what we have:

Article II, Section 1:

In Case of the Removal of the President from Office, or of his Death, Resignation, or Inability to discharge the Powers and Duties of the said Office, the Same shall devolve on the Vice President, and the Congress may by Law provide for the Case of Removal, Death, Resignation or Inability, both of the President and Vice President, declaring what Officer shall then act as President, and such Officer shall act accordingly, until the Disability be removed, or a President shall be elected.

Amendment 12 by a very convoluted arcane process and in a special circumstance, "...the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President. …", setting a precedent for House selection of a president.

Amendment 20, Section 3:

The Congress may by law provide for the case wherein neither a President elect nor a Vice President shall have qualified, declaring who shall then act as President, or the manner in which one who is to act shall be selected, and such person shall act accordingly until a President or Vice President shall have qualified.

Here, an obvious Constitutional crisis occurs, in whether the now-confirmed SCOTUS nominee can vote on her own case or not. Being there no ethics with these predators, you cannot expect her to recuse herself. If Biden loses, this scenario won't occur. Expect revenge by Trump and his supporters, with a correspondent reaction by the liberal democrats.

Because of the refusal by liberal democrats to standardize the voting procedure and ensure the best use of technology (as in biometric identification and voting by computer – the voter's presence checked against already-established records based on Federal identification), we may not know of the final election results – even possibly until the beginning of 2021!

Reality check – The liberal democrats never have had their "gun act" together. Violence will be regime-sanctioned, more forcible if Trump wins (think Brownshirts), less so with Biden winning. In the former scenario, it will be an open question if an armed resistance could develop with the liberals. In the latter case, I would expect to see more private militia activity. In both cases, irregular war will be the paradigm.

While there is no universal agreement on what will happen in particular, there does seem to be a consensus that there very well may be a complete breakdown of law and order, to say nothing of how the current election process is deeply flawed. Already, we are seeing mounting turmoil in the streets, with new instances of police brutality against blacks occurring nonstop. Remember the words "American experiment". What a bunch of wealthy landowners and merchants did in 1787 was not guaranteed to last. At Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Benjamin Franklin allegedly replied to a woman's question about what they had produced, "A republic, madam, if you can keep it." Scientists know that most experiments fail, but the good ones know that often, more is learned by the failures than successes.

So, whither liberal democracy, where "individualism" literally trumps social justice? Go get that popcorn, pull up a chair, sit down, and enjoy the show. It is something that Hollywood couldn't create if it tried. Meanwhile, let's get organizing. Opportunity (this time, mounting anarchy and social entropy) knocks, but you must open the door. Next time, I will discuss how not voting is a vote and why it is pointless to go to the polls.
