The passage of time has allowed the basic creed of the economic structure of a true Fascist State as advocates of the main tenets to become lost in the morass of modern media and society. Left-wingers exclaim “Fascist” when hearing a capitalist ideology being espoused, little realizing how fundamentally wrong they are in such an exclamation. Corporatism in the true meaning of the word has nothing to do with the contemporary pejorative to describe political domination by business and which appears to have evolved as a term from the “hippie” culture of the 1960s. Fascist economics, to place it simply, is the middle juncture between capitalism and communism. Fascism is a logical and practical economic, and social, ideology. The specifics adopted by any given Fascist State adjust the structure to fit the national requirements born out of geography and a given set of circumstances, so creating differing “flavors” of Fascism but, in essence, they following the same guiding principles with the ultimate benefit to all members the State. The economic system has as the heart a government playing the central role in all trade, production, financial services and labor activity that take place within the nation. The role takes the form of umbrella structures, monitoring and over-seeing, through command and control, what is done for the sole purpose of the safeguard and advancement of the nation and people. In certain aspects, this is not unlike various structures under existing capitalist and communist countries. All countries, for example, have a central bank with political involvement. However, with Fascism, such a central bank has as its’ core the benefit of the people: there are no “bail-outs” or “too big to fail” indulgences for bankers under Fascism. In the true Fascist State, free and private enterprise may prosper under the axiom of that this activity contributes to the nation and society. Government requires such contribution produce a product or provide a service that enhances the nation; that workers are paid appropriately in such a company; that there be no negative aspect such as moral and spiritual degradation found in goods and services such as pornography. This free enterprise permits the entrepreneur to become wealthy and also allows the individual practices not tolerated under communism. Returning to the term corporatism, one can use it to describe the State’s effective licensing and regulation of officially sanctioned economic, social, religious and popular organizations, occasionally operating them directly, is part of the structure to protect against possible ravages by errant entrepreneurs or a bourgeois plutocracy emerging. Under Fascism, the government tightly controls monetary policy and financial constructs. Usury is prohibited. Usury works against the people of any nation. Interest fees do nothing to support the foundations of a just society but, in effect, the opposite, encouraging the greedy & selfish at the expense of the overwhelming majority. This has been seen throughout much of history and as an adjunct, usury allows for moral decay. With Fascism, the government issues (or prints) money and lends it interest free, as needed, to grow the economy and ultimately serve the citizens. This means that the earlier reference to capitalist bailouts for banks and the in-equities such practice brings cannot occur within the fascist nation. As part of the government contract with society, certain forms of industry are encouraged, forms that are structurally significant and as can be found in technology, engineering, the sciences, construction and agriculture. Price controls are implemented where appropriate for the benefit of the industry and society. In many societies, even under capitalism, these abound and readily found in agriculture. The underlying principle for Fascist price controls lies solely in the interests of the nation as a whole and not for a select few to benefit. A further aspect of this contract with society is found in the abolition of so-called “free” trade agreements. Look at the present capitalist American agreement with the communist Chinese which results in American companies sending jobs overseas to save on labor costs. This undermines all and causes structural imbalance in the economy, holding one nation in financial debt to another and robs the workers of America the chance to earn a fair wage. Workers succeed with fascism through fair wages; a health care system for all for a physically healthy society is essential in a successful nation; support for the young through educational resources from kindergarten to university; equitable prices; union participation; minimal unemployment…the list is seemingly endless. In summary of this economic overview, the prime goal of Fascism is the well-being of the nation as a whole and the citizens. In a capitalist country, the philosophy is that almost nothing can interfere with maximizing profit and certainly not the workers who suffer through lower wages and often high unemployment levels can easily result. With communism, there is no room for free enterprise, no private land, nothing but a soulless government. Fascist economic doctrine resolves those issues.
