How to use research

It is nigh impossible, even for the most hardy of academicians, to read all works pertaining even to our narrow research interests.  The more we read, the more we realize that we know less than we previously thought.  Reading in this sense makes us dumber.  However, we still are able to apprehend objects without having to see them atom-by-atom.  That is, we inductively put the individual “particles” together to form a whole.  A good example is our looking a photograph in a newspaper or image on our television or computer screen.  We do not look at each dot or pixel but instead are able to obtain what really is an illusion of solidness.  We do this with statistics and science, obtaining samples in appropriate manners and extrapolating from them a whole.

Academicians do the same by sampling the vast field of works being produced at explosive rates.  In college courses this is done with anthologies and selected readings, samples from even a sampling of writers.  Further reading may reveal anomalies, suggesting that we change our views to accommodate them.  Accordingly, this is how we need to read the works listed below.  They are but a tiny sample of books and articles about fascism, organic societies, and philosophy.  In the process of reading there often will be references to other works, which in turn will reference more works, and so forth.  If you come across the same work being referenced in several others, this is significant and requires greater attention.

This library is a new and somewhat experimental project of ABP, but it has been thought that in order for one to ground her or his thinking better sources need to be provided.  Over time, more will be added, but if you identify something you think should be on the list, by all means contact us.  Initially we see three broad categories: Fascism, Corporations and Corporatism, Organic societies and their foundation of order, and philosophy.  A number of works obviously will overlap the categories, but each's overall emphasis is in the category in which it is placed.  Following are some additional notes.
